Solar Equipment Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician for Worksafe Traffic Control Industries, Inc., you will be part of a team that performs routine maintenance and repairs on many different types of battery-powered, solar-assisted traffic control equipment and devices located throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. If you have a passion to work outdoors, in all seasons, then this is the job for you.

Ideal candidate must have:

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform maintenance and repairs on battery-powered, solar-assisted equipment.
  • Ability to read schematics and other technical manuals and documents.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed as well as be a team player, with the ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications for different types of equipment.
  • Must have a clean, valid Class D driver’s license.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Work indoors as well as outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Frequently required to lift, push, pull and place up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Be able and willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, and other PPE as required.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.

This individual will work out of our corporate division located in Berlin, VT. A vehicle and tools will be provided.

Job Description

POSITION TITLE: IT Equipment Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Monitor, maintain, deploy and repair highway safety equipment and provide customer service for all smart work zone and ITS projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remotely monitor equipment daily, resolving any issues.
  • Maintain, service and repair company rental equipment fleet (PCMS’s, arrow boards, portable traffic signals, speed feedback trailers, etc.); Could include but not be limited to field deployment for repairs and replacement of equipment batteries.
  • Maintain, service and repair State of Vermont PCMS’s and PQT’s; Could include but not be limited to deployment for repairs and replacement of equipment batteries.
  • Charge, test and maintain equipment batteries at facility.
  • Deliver and deploy equipment to customers; Conduct annual equipment inspections.
  • Support deployment and removal of equipment on smart work zone projects; Assist with installation of permanent mounted changeable message signs.
  • Assist with equipment unloading and customer pick-ups and rental returns at facility.
  • Provide courier services to second company facility.
  • Support yard duties including but not limited to organization of equipment in facility yard and snow removal.
  • Support sign shop activities upon request to include weeding, masking, sheeting material and making signage and preparing substrates (cutting plywood for finished signs).

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED completion.
  • 1+ years of work zone temporary traffic control experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage shipping and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.

Director of Finance

Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Director of Finance
LOCATION: Corporate Headquarters
POSITION STATUS: Full-Time
REPORTS TO: President

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for management of all company accounting and financial controls, recordkeeping, reports, payments, analysis and projections.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain proper contract billing database; Prepare and send all monthly (rental, sales, service etc.) invoicing to customers; Process all sales tax filings, reports and payments.
  • Maintain accurate and current accounts payable records; Apply applicable and reasonable discounts to accounts payable.
  • Maintain accurate and current accounts receivable records; Ensure that all accounts receivable payments are collected accurately and on-time; Address past due collections; Prepare and review monthly reports addressing open sales orders, open purchase orders.
  • Prepare, review and process payroll (including certified payroll) in a timely manner; Conduct regular payroll and worker’s compensation audits as requested/needed.
  • Process weekly 401k contributions and maintain accurate database.
  • Maintain employee benefits, sick time, vacation time and all other employee recordings including but not limited to annual reporting and tax related correspondence.
  • Assist with Human Resource responsibilities as requested.
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed; Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.

  • Maintain and prepare monthly financials reporting present & discuss with owners.
  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Prepare end-of-year financial documents for external audit review; Maintain relationship with external auditor and review changes within the year that impact company performance; Prepare quarterly reports for financial institutions and respond to questions that arise from those reports.
  • Support preparation of Worker’s Compensation filing.
  • Develop and maintain financial status reports including development of forecasts, analyze variances and improvement measures.
  • Maintain annual memberships, renewals and reporting.
  • Direct management of inventory and maintain tracking system to include but not be limited to deliveries, shipments and stock levels; Analyze and recommend appropriate stock and restocking levels; Maintain and report scrap report.
  • Act as backup for sales and shipping team members as needed.
  • Assist in bid preparation, documentation and submission.

  • Maintain shop inventory levels; Obtain vendor quotes and place orders for inventory and production items; Review and research new products and vendors; Set up new vendors in QuickBooks. Assist in management of inventory levels at secondary company location, Support with unloading of equipment deliveries.
